After several drinks at a party, Sam drinks two cups of strong coffee and takes a cold shower. He now feels wide awake. What is true about his blood alcohol concentration (BAC)?
Correct answer: It is the same as it would be without the coffee and the shower.
Why
Alcohol starts to enter the blood within a minute or two after a drink, and it builds up when you drink faster than your liver can break it down. Because the liver handles only about one drink per hour, several drinks take several hours to leave the body. If you have been drinking, get a sober driver or another ride instead of trying to sober up quickly.
