Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You drive behind a slow farm truck on a two-lane road. The center of the road has two yellow lines: the line next to your lane is solid, and the line on the far side is broken. The oncoming lane looks clear. What should you do?
Blue car A follows silver farm pickup B in the lower eastbound lane of a two-way road. The center line nearest A is solid yellow; the opposite line is broken. The oncoming lane is clear.
Correct answer: Stay behind the truck until the broken line is on your side.
Why
No-passing zones are marked where you cannot see far enough ahead, for example near hills, curves, intersections and driveways. A pass in a no-passing zone can cause a head-on crash. You may cross a solid yellow line to turn left into a driveway or a side road, when it is safe.
