Your front tires are nearly bald, and you must drive on a wet highway. What change should you expect?
Blue car A travels on a wet highway. A close-up shows its front tire with nearly bald tread; no stopping or hydroplaning outcome is shown.
Correct answer: You need more distance to stop, and your car is more likely to hydroplane.
Why
To check the tread, put a penny into the tread with Lincoln's head down; if the tread does not reach his head (about 2/32 inch), replace the tire. Check the tire pressure with a gauge, and use the pressure on the sticker in the driver's door jamb, not the maximum printed on the tire. Remember to check the spare tire as well.
