Passing target: 70% (28/40)
You stop at a STOP sign that has an ALL WAY plate below it. At the same moment, a car stops at the STOP sign on the street to your right. Both of you plan to go straight. Which driver should go first?
Blue A faces east and silver B faces north from the street on A’s right. Both have stopped behind their lines at the same moment and plan to go straight, as stated in the question. Exact U.S. STOP and ALL WAY faces control each approach and are repeated in a labelled detail. No first-movement route or priority instruction appears.
Correct answer: The other driver, because that car is on your right
Why
At an all-way stop, every driver must come to a full stop at the stop line or crosswalk. Drivers then go in the order in which they stopped, and each one yields to a vehicle already in the intersection. When two drivers stop at the same time, the one on the left waits for the one on the right. Right-of-way is something that you give, so wait if the other driver does not follow the rule.
