Jordan, 16, got her learner license on March 1. In May, her license was suspended for 30 days. When does she first meet the Phase One time rule for a provisional license?
Correct answer: October 1, because the 30 suspended days are added
Why
Phase One of the Graduated Driver License program gives a teen at least six months of supervised practice before driving alone. The six months can include time with a learner license, a hardship license, or both. A suspended license is not valid, so the time becomes longer by the number of suspended days. A provisional license also requires age 16, driver education and a passed driving exam.
