Passing target: 70% (28/40)
You drive in the left lane of a street with two lanes in your direction. You plan to turn right at a corner about a block ahead. The right lane has space. How should you make the turn?
A is in the left of two lanes going in its direction and plans a right turn ahead. The right lane is empty. The corner and the near receiving lane are visible, without a route or selected turn position.
Correct answer: Signal, move to the right lane when safe, and keep close to the right curb through the turn.
Why
A tight right turn keeps your car in a predictable path and out of the other lanes. Signal your lane change well before the corner, and then signal the turn and slow down at least 100 feet before it. Look for pedestrians and bicyclists at the corner before you turn, and keep both hands on the wheel.
