You are driving home when a county sheriff's deputy stops you and asks for your driver license. What does Texas law require?
Correct answer: Show the license card; you must carry it while you drive and show it when an officer asks.
Why
The handbook says that you must show your license on request to law officers such as a sheriff, constable or state trooper, to a judge or justice of the peace, and to any person in a crash with you. If you drive without the license card with you, you break the law, even if DPS has your record. Keep the license in the same place each time you drive, so you can show it quickly and calmly during a stop.
