You turn right at a corner. You turned on your signal when you were about 60 feet from the corner, and you kept it on until the turn. Did you meet the Texas rule?
A approaches a right turn on a two-way road. A bracket from its front to the near corner reads 60 ft. The card says the right signal started there and stayed on through the turn. No required minimum is shown.
Correct answer: No. You must signal continuously for at least the last 100 feet before the turn.
Why
An early signal gives the drivers behind you time to slow down and gives people at the corner time to see your plan. The handbook also tells you to slow down at least 100 feet from the corner before a turn. Turn the signal off after the turn, because a signal that stays on still tells others that you will turn.
