Correct answer: B. A sharp rise in the road ahead.
Why
This yellow warning sign tells you that there is a sharp rise in the road surface ahead. Slow down before you reach it, so that you keep control and do not jolt your vehicle or your passengers. If a speed plaque is below the sign, use that speed as a guide. The DIP sign has the same shape and color, but it warns of a sharp low spot in the road instead.
Why the other answers are not correct
- A. Wrong: a sharp low spot in the road is shown by the DIP sign.
- C. Wrong: a change from pavement to gravel is shown by the PAVEMENT ENDS sign.
- D. Wrong: a long rough stretch is shown by the ROUGH ROAD sign; this sign warns of one sharp rise.
