Show the answer and the explanationHide the answer
Correct answer: D. The divided road ends, and two-way traffic is ahead.
Why
This is the Divided Highway Ends sign. It warns that the median or barrier between the two directions of traffic ends ahead. After that point, oncoming vehicles pass close to you with no median or barrier between you. Keep right, stay in your lane, and watch for oncoming traffic. The Divided Highway sign looks similar, but its rounded median shape is at the top, and it warns that a divided section begins.
Why the other answers are not correct
- A. That is the Divided Highway sign, which shows the rounded median shape at the top of the sign.
- B. A merge sign shows lanes that go the same way; here the two arrows point in opposite directions.
- C. This warning sign gives no turn permission; it warns that the median ends and the road becomes two-way.
