Show the answer and the explanationHide the answer
Correct answer: C. Traffic may pass on either side of the island
Why
This Double Arrow sign tells you that traffic may pass on either side of an island, obstruction or gore ahead. Choose the side that suits your route and steer well clear of the object. The Keep Right sign is different: it tells you to pass on the right side of the island.
Why the other answers are not correct
- A. Wrong: a Keep Right sign sends traffic to one side; this sign shows that both sides are open.
- B. Wrong: traffic that passes the island can rejoin on the other side; this sign does not mark the end of a road.
- D. Wrong: the sign does not require a stop; it shows that you may pass on either side.
