Correct answer: A. The open space under the structure ahead is 12 feet 6 inches high.
Why
This sign warns of a low bridge, overpass or other structure ahead. The number between the arrows is the height of the space under it. Compare it with the full height of your vehicle, including any load. If your vehicle will not fit, take another route before you reach the structure. The sign is about height; width, length and weight limits use other signs.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. Wrong: the arrows point up and down, so the number is a height, not the width of the road.
- C. Wrong: the number is the height of the space under the structure, not a limit on vehicle length.
- D. Wrong: speed does not change the height of a vehicle, so a vehicle taller than the clearance can strike the structure.
