Correct answer: B. The beginning of a no-passing zone.
Why
This yellow pennant points to the right and stands on the left side of the road. It marks the beginning of a no-passing zone, which pavement markings or a DO NOT PASS sign also show. Finish any pass before you reach the sign, and do not start a new pass in the zone. No other sign has this pennant shape, so you can know it by its shape, even before you can read the words.
Why the other answers are not correct
- A. The sign stands where the zone starts, not where it ends.
- C. Other signs and markings show an added passing lane; this sign tells you that passing is not allowed.
- D. Curve warnings are yellow diamonds with a curved arrow; no sign other than this one has the pennant shape.
