Correct answer: C. The road ahead turns sharply left, so slow down before the turn.
Why
This Turn sign warns that the road ahead turns sharply in the direction of the arrow. Slow down before the turn, stay in your lane, and use any advisory speed plaque below the sign as a guide. The sign does not tell you to turn onto another road. A Curve sign, with a gently bent arrow, warns of a curve that you can drive at a higher speed than a turn.
Why the other answers are not correct
- A. Wrong: a yellow warning sign does not order a turn; it warns of a change in the road ahead.
- B. Wrong: the sharp bend in the arrow warns of a turn that needs a lower speed, so you cannot keep your speed.
- D. Wrong: a side road has its own warning sign; this arrow shows that your own road turns.
