Show the answer and the explanation

Correct answer: D. Slow down and be ready to stop at the traffic signal ahead.

Why

This warning sign tells you that a traffic signal is ahead, often one that a curve, a hill or trees hide until you are close. Slow down and be ready to stop if the light is yellow or red, and watch for vehicles that are stopped at the signal. Obey the signal itself when you reach it. The Stop Ahead sign looks similar, but it shows a red octagon, and the Yield Ahead sign shows a red and white triangle.

Why the other answers are not correct

  • A. Railroad crossing warnings show an X or the letters RR; this sign shows a traffic signal.
  • B. The Stop Ahead sign shows a red octagon; this sign shows a traffic signal.
  • C. The sign warns of a signal that may show you red; it does not give you the right-of-way.
