Show the answer and the explanationHide the answer
Correct answer: A. Slow down and be ready to yield or stop at the YIELD sign ahead.
Why
This warning sign tells you that a YIELD sign is ahead, often one that you cannot see yet. Slow down early. At the YIELD sign, give the right-of-way to traffic and pedestrians, and stop if you must. The red and white triangle on the yellow diamond shows a YIELD sign ahead. The Stop Ahead sign shows a red octagon, and the Signal Ahead sign shows a traffic signal.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. The sign faces you, so you are the driver who must yield at the YIELD sign ahead.
- C. The Stop Ahead sign shows a red octagon; the triangle on this sign shows a YIELD sign.
- D. The arrow points ahead to where the YIELD sign stands; it does not ban turns.
