Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You are driving behind a bicyclist who rides in the right part of your lane. You plan to turn right at the next corner, about half a block ahead. What should you do?
A follows a bicyclist riding at the right side of the lane before a corner. No overtaking or right-turn route is shown in the question.
Correct answer: Stay behind the rider, and turn after the rider clears the intersection
Why
Bicyclists can move faster than you think, and a driver who passes and then turns right can cut across the rider's path. Before any turn, check your mirror and look over your shoulder for bicyclists, and yield to them. Also watch for riders in the crosswalk or on the sidewalk at the corner, because a bicyclist in a crosswalk has the rights of a pedestrian.
