Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You drive on a road with signals over each lane. A red X is lit over your lane, and a green arrow that points down is lit over the lane to your right. What should you do?
A occupies the lane below a red X; the lane to the right has a green downward arrow. No lane-change path is present before answering.
Correct answer: Move safely into the lane under the green arrow, and leave the red X lane
Why
Lane-use signals control lanes whose direction changes during the day, for example on busy roads at rush hour. A green arrow that points down means that you may use that lane. A yellow X means that the lane will soon close or change direction, so leave it early. Reversible lanes are marked on both sides by a double broken yellow line.
