You are stopped at a steady red light on a one-way street. You want to turn left onto a one-way street where traffic moves to your left. No sign prohibits the turn. What may you do?
A is stopped before a red light at a junction between two one-way streets. White arrows on the cross street point left, and no turn path is drawn.
Correct answer: After the full stop, turn left when you have yielded to pedestrians and traffic
Why
A steady red light means that you stop before the crosswalk or stop line and stay stopped until a signal lets you go. The only exceptions are a movement shown by a green arrow and the permitted turns on red. Right turns on red are allowed at two-way streets, and left turns on red are allowed only between one-way streets. Local authorities can prohibit these turns with a sign, so always check before you turn.
