At night on a rural highway, you are using high beams. A car comes toward you. At what distance from that car does Wyoming law first require you to use low beams?
A and B face toward one another on a two-way road at night. No headlight distance is printed in the question image.
Correct answer: 500 feet
Why
Wyoming law requires you to switch from high beams before you come within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle, and before you come within 300 feet of a vehicle that you follow. The manual says 500 feet is about four to five seconds of travel. High beams in another driver's eyes can blind that driver for a moment and cause a crash, so use them on open rural roads only when no one is near.
