You are waiting to turn left at an intersection. An oncoming motorcycle is approaching with its right turn signal flashing. What should you do?
A waits to turn left across an approaching motorcycle's path. The motorcycle's right turn signal is identified in the card.
Correct answer: Wait until the motorcycle clearly slows and starts its turn before you go.
Why
Drivers who turn left in front of an oncoming motorcycle cause a large share of car-motorcycle crashes. Most motorcycles do not cancel their turn signals automatically, so a flashing signal does not prove that the rider will turn. Look, then look again, judge the motorcycle's speed, and wait until it clearly slows and starts to turn; Wyoming law requires a left-turning driver to yield to oncoming vehicles that are close enough to be a hazard.
