You approach an intersection with no traffic signals. A pedestrian steps off the far curb into the unmarked crosswalk and starts to cross toward your side of the road. What must you do?
A approaches an unsignalized intersection where a pedestrian has stepped from the far curb into the unmarked crossing toward A's side.
Correct answer: Slow down or stop as needed, and let the pedestrian finish crossing the road.
Why
Where traffic signals are not in place or not working, Wyoming law requires you to slow down or stop for any pedestrian who is in or entering a crosswalk from either edge of the road. A crosswalk exists at an intersection even without painted lines. Never pass a vehicle that has stopped at a crosswalk, because it may hide a person who is crossing.
