Passing target: 80% (20/25)
No traffic signal is installed or operating. A pedestrian is in a marked crosswalk on your half of the road, or close enough from the other half to be in danger. What must you do?
A and B approach a complete marked crosswalk in adjacent lanes. A pedestrian is crossing ahead, and A has room to stop well before the crosswalk.
Correct answer: Yield and avoid passing another vehicle stopped for the pedestrian.
Why
Yield, slowing or stopping when necessary to let the pedestrian cross safely. Do not overtake a vehicle stopped at a marked crosswalk or an unmarked intersection crosswalk for a pedestrian. A pedestrian must not suddenly enter so close that yielding is impossible, but the driver must always exercise due care to avoid a collision.
