Intersections & Right-of-WayStandalone practice
You are driving through a single-lane roundabout and realize you have just passed the street you wanted. What should you do?
A is inside a single-lane roundabout, just beyond the exit on the left of the picture. White lane arrows show counterclockwise traffic.
Correct answer: Keep circling to the right of the center island until you return to your exit
Why
Roundabouts work because every driver moves the same way at low speed and does not stop, pass or change lanes inside. An extra lap costs only seconds, while stopping or reversing causes crashes. Signal right before you exit, and watch for pedestrians and bicyclists in the crosswalk as you leave.
