You are behind a tractor-trailer at an intersection. Its right turn signal is on, but it moves toward the left side of its lane. What should you do?
A follows a tractor-trailer at an intersection. The truck remains within its single lane, toward the left edge, and a card states that its right signal is on.
Correct answer: Stay back and let it finish the turn; do not move into the gap on its right
Why
Tractor-trailers need wide turns because the trailer's rear wheels follow a tighter path than the cab. The driver may swing left, or even use part of another lane, to make a right turn. Give the truck time and space, stay out of its blind spots, and pass only after it has finished turning.
