Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
While parking in a lot, you dent a parked car. Nobody is in it, and you cannot find the owner. What must you do?
Correct answer: Leave a note in plain view with your name, address and what happened.
Why
New Mexico law says a driver who hits an unattended vehicle must stop and either find the owner or leave a written note in a place where it will be seen. The note must give your name and address, the name and address of your vehicle's owner, and a short statement of what happened. The manual also suggests adding the date and time and how the owner can reach you.
