Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You want to park at the curb on the approach to a stop sign at the side of the road. What is the closest distance to the stop sign at which you may park?
A is beside the right curb, before a roadside STOP sign on a straight stretch of roadway.
Correct answer: 30 feet
Why
Do not park within 30 feet of a stop sign, flashing beacon or traffic signal at the side of the road; the manual also lists yield signs. Vehicles parked close to these devices can hide them from approaching drivers and block the view of the intersection. Other New Mexico parking distances include 15 feet from a fire hydrant and 50 feet from a railroad crossing.
