Passing target: 70% (21/30)
You are about to turn right from a two-lane street onto another street. There are no signs or lane markings for the turn. How should you position your car?
A approaches a right turn from a street with one lane in each direction. The receiving street has two lanes in each direction.
Correct answer: Stay close to the right curb or edge, and turn into the nearest lane.
Why
A tight, predictable right turn keeps drivers behind you from misreading your move and keeps you out of lanes where others do not expect you. Signal at least 100 feet before the turn. Before you turn, make sure no traffic is coming from your left and no oncoming driver is turning left into your path, and check for pedestrians crossing where you will go.
