You are driving in a lane marked with double dashed yellow lines. The signal over your lane changes from a green arrow to a steady yellow X. What should you do?
A travels in a reversible lane between double dashed yellow lines. A steady yellow X is illuminated on the overhead lane-control panel.
Correct answer: Move out of the lane as soon as you safely can.
Why
Reversible lanes carry traffic in one direction at some times and in the other direction at other times, and they are usually marked with double dashed yellow lines. A green arrow means you may use the lane, a red X means you may not, a flashing yellow X means the lane is for turns only, and a steady yellow X means its use is changing. Check the signals and signs before you enter such a lane.
