Passing target: 70% (14/20)
You drive through an intersection on a green light. A fire truck with flashing red lights and a siren comes up behind you. What should you do?
A is already crossing an intersection under green when fire truck B approaches behind. B’s warning lamps are emphasized, and the card states that its siren is sounding.
Correct answer: Clear the intersection, then pull over to the right edge and stop until it passes.
Why
Fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles on an emergency call can go through red lights, go over the speed limit and drive the wrong way, so they are hard to predict. Stay stopped until the vehicle has passed before you drive on. If you hear a siren but cannot see the vehicle, pull over and stop until you are sure that it is not coming toward you.
