Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road, the driver behind you signals, sounds the horn and moves into the left lane to pass you. What must you do?
A travels in the right-hand lane of a two-lane road. B has moved into the opposing lane behind A to pass, and the card states that B signals and sounds the horn.
Correct answer: Move toward the right edge and do not speed up until the car has passed
Why
A passing driver is exposed to oncoming traffic, and your actions decide how long that exposure lasts. North Carolina treats this seriously: if you fail to give way or you speed up and a crash with injury or property damage results, it is a misdemeanor. If a line of cars builds up behind you, pull over where it is safe, stop and let them pass.
