You come to a four-way stop and stop first. A moment later, a car stops on the road to your right. Both of you want to go straight. Who should go first?
A is stopped on the west approach to a four-way stop. B is stopped on the south approach, to A’s right; the card states that A stopped first and B stopped next.
Correct answer: You go first, because you stopped first, but watch in case the other driver goes.
Why
After any stop at a stop sign, you must still yield to vehicles that are already in the intersection or so close that they are a hazard. North Dakota law also tells you to yield to a vehicle that stopped at another stop sign of the intersection before you did. Never force your way in, even when it is your turn.
