You must park facing uphill. Which wheel position does the North Dakota manual show?
A faces uphill beside the curb on its right. A separate side profile shows the direction of the road’s grade, with no wheel-setting answer in the question image.
Correct answer: With a curb: turn the front wheels away from the curb.
Why
The direction in which the car would roll decides the wheel position. Facing uphill, the car rolls backward, so wheels turned away from the curb let the back of the tire stop against it. On an uphill road with no curb, turn the wheels toward the shoulder so that a rolling car leaves the roadway and does not enter traffic.
