Passing target: 75% (30/40)
You are driving through an intersection on a green light when a fire truck with flashing lights and a siren comes up behind you. What should you do?
A is crossing an intersection under a green light while fire truck B approaches from behind. White flash marks identify B’s warning lamps, and the card states that its siren is sounding.
Correct answer: Drive on through the intersection, then pull to the right edge and stop until it passes
Why
Emergency vehicles need an open path to reach a fire, a crash or a sick person quickly. When all drivers pull to the right and stop, the emergency driver has a clear and predictable path. After it passes, do not follow an emergency vehicle that answers an alarm closer than 500 feet, because Ohio law forbids it.
