On a highway, you drive beside the trailer of a tractor-trailer, in the lane to its left. You look at the truck's left side mirror and cannot see the truck driver's face in it. What does this tell you, and what should you do?
A travels beside the trailer of tractor-trailer B in the lane to its left. The card states that A cannot see the truck driver’s face in the left side mirror.
Correct answer: The truck driver probably cannot see your car, so move ahead or drop back when it is safe
Why
The No Zones are the areas around a truck or bus where cars disappear from the driver's view, and they get bigger as the vehicle gets bigger. Behind a large truck the blind area can reach up to 200 feet. Pass a truck steadily instead of staying next to it, and do not follow so closely that the truck driver cannot see you in the side mirrors.
