Passing target: 80% (16/20)
On a four-lane highway, a motorcycle ahead of you rides in the left part of your lane. The right part of the lane looks wide enough for your car. You want to pass. What should you do?
A follows motorcycle B on a four-lane highway. B rides in the left part of their lane, leaving visible space on its right; the adjacent same-direction lane is clear.
Correct answer: Change to the other lane and pass as you would pass a car, not too close
Why
A motorcycle has the right to use the full width of its lane. Riders move within the lane to see and be seen, to avoid potholes and wind blasts, and to keep an escape path. Never try to share a lane with a motorcycle. Pass it as you would pass a car: signal, use the next lane, and do not pass too close or too fast, because the blast of air from your car can push a motorcycle off its path.
