You are in the middle of an intersection on a green light when a fire truck comes up behind you with its siren on and its red lights flashing. What should you do?
A is inside a green-light intersection. Fire truck B approaches from behind in the same lane, with flash marks at its red warning lights; the card states that its siren sounds.
Correct answer: Clear the intersection, then pull over close to the right curb and stop.
Why
Watch for vehicles with a siren and flashing red, or red and blue, lights from any direction. After the emergency vehicle passes, make sure that no other one is coming, and stay at least 500 feet behind it when you drive on. At an emergency scene, obey any uniformed police officer or fire police who directs traffic.
