Passing target: 83.3% (15/18)
You drive toward an intersection that has no traffic signal and no painted crosswalk lines. A pedestrian steps off the corner to walk across your street. What must you do?
A approaches an intersection without signals or painted crosswalk lines. A pedestrian has stepped from the near corner onto the road directly ahead of A.
Correct answer: Yield, and stop if needed, until the pedestrian is out of your path.
Why
An unmarked crosswalk is the part of the road between the extended lines of the sidewalks at an intersection. Also yield to pedestrians who cross with the light when you turn, to people on a sidewalk across a driveway or alley, and always to a blind pedestrian with a white cane or a guide dog. Do not wave a pedestrian into the road, because another driver may not stop.
