You wait at a stop sign to pull onto a main road. A motorcycle approaches from the left with its right turn signal flashing. What should you do?
A waits behind a side-street stop line beside a STOP sign. Motorcycle B approaches from A’s left on the main road; the card states that its right signal is flashing.
Correct answer: Wait until you see the motorcycle actually begin its turn.
Why
Many crashes between cars and motorcycles happen at intersections when a driver pulls out or turns left in front of a rider. A motorcycle's small size makes its speed and distance hard to judge. Look twice, and give riders a full lane and at least four seconds of following distance.
