Passing target: 80% (32/40)
Two lanes are marked for the same turn, and guide markings show the course from each lane through the intersection. Why should you follow the course marked for your lane?
Blue A and silver B approach an intersection in adjacent lanes marked for left turns. A dashed guide line curves through the intersection between the two turning courses.
Correct answer: It keeps you out of the path of a vehicle turning beside you
Why
Follow the turning course indicated by the traffic-control devices. In a multi-lane turn, cutting across the guide markings can take you into the path of a vehicle turning beside you. Complete the turn in the designated receiving lane. Any later lane change needs its own checks, signal and safe gap; being in a turning lane does not give priority over pedestrians.
