The speed limit on a rural highway is 60 mph. You see this yellow curve warning sign with a yellow plate below it that reads 35 MPH. What does the 35 MPH plate tell you?

Correct answer: It is the highest speed advised for driving safely through the curve
Why
Yellow signs warn and advise; white signs with black letters give legal limits. An advisory speed does not change the posted limit, but if you take the curve faster than the advised speed you can slide off the road, and Texas law requires a speed that is safe for the conditions, including curves. Slow down before the curve, not in it, so that you do not brake hard while you turn.
