Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You plan to turn onto a freeway ramp. At the ramp, a sign faces you: a red circle with a white horizontal bar and the white words DO NOT ENTER. What does this tell you?

Correct answer: Traffic on this ramp moves toward you, so you must not drive onto it from here
Why
You often see this sign at the exit end of a freeway ramp and at the far end of a one-way street. On a one-way road, Texas law lets you drive only in the posted direction, and on a freeway you may enter only at an entrance. A driver who ignores this sign meets traffic head-on, which can cause very serious crashes. Look for the entrance that goes in your direction.
