Show the answer and the explanation

Correct answer: C. A stopped school bus may be ahead and out of sight.

Why

This sign warns that a school bus may be stopped ahead to pick up or drop off students, at a place you cannot see from far away, such as past a hill or a curve. Slow down and be ready to stop. If the bus has its red lights flashing and its stop arm out, stop. Do not confuse it with the five-sided School sign, which warns of a school or a school crossing.

Why the other answers are not correct

  • A. Wrong: a school or school crossing is shown by the five-sided School sign, not by this school bus sign.
  • B. Wrong: a school bus turnaround is shown by a different sign with the words SCHOOL BUS TURN AHEAD.
  • D. Wrong: the sign is about a bus that stops to pick up or drop off students, not buses that enter from a yard.
