Passing target: 80% (40/50)
You turn left from a single left-turn lane onto a two-way street that has two lanes in each direction. No sign or marking directs your path. Which lane should you turn into?
Blue car A approaches from the left and plans a left turn. The receiving street has two lanes in each direction, divided by yellow center lines.
Correct answer: The left lane for your new direction, just to the right of the center line
Why
Turn from the correct lane into the correct lane. For a left turn, start in the left-most lane for your direction and end in the left-most lane for your new direction. On a two-way street, that lane is just to the right of the center line; on a one-way street, it is the lane next to the left curb. If you need another lane, change lanes after the turn when it is safe.
