Passing target: 80% (40/50)
You pass a slow truck on a two-lane, two-way road. An oncoming car comes into view. At what distance from the oncoming car does Utah law first require you to be back in the right lane?
Blue car A is passing white box truck B in the opposing lane of a two-way road. Silver car C approaches from the other direction.
Correct answer: 200 feet
Why
Before you pass on a two-lane road, make sure that the oncoming lane is clear far enough ahead for you to finish the pass. Return to your lane as soon as it is practical, and before you come within 200 feet of any oncoming vehicle. Before you move back, check that you can see the truck in your rearview mirror, and do a head check. If you are not sure that you have enough room, do not start the pass.
