Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You turn right from the right lane onto a street that has two lanes in your new direction. You plan to turn left a few blocks later. How should you make the right turn?
Blue car A approaches from the left and plans a right turn onto a street with two lanes each way. Its card says a left turn is planned later.
Correct answer: Turn close to the curb into the right lane, then change lanes later when it is safe
Why
For a right turn, approach and turn as close as practical to the right curb or edge of the road. Do not cut the corner, and do not make a wide turn. Finish in the right lane; then signal, check your mirrors and blind spot, and change lanes after you have cleared the intersection.
