Passing target: 80% (40/50)
You are first in line at a red light. Your light turns green. A car on the cross street is still coming toward the intersection fast and does not seem to slow down for its red light. What should you do?
Blue A waits first at a stop line as its signal shows green. Silver B approaches from the cross street, where an enlarged signal shows red. The card says B approaches fast without slowing.
Correct answer: Go after that car has passed and you have checked that your path is clear
Why
A green light gives you permission to go; it does not promise that the way is clear. Before you move, look left, right and then left again, and make sure that no cross traffic, pedestrians or bicyclists are still in your path. Do not rely on other road users to obey signals or signs. Be ready to wait so that you can avoid a crash.
