Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You are in a right-turn lane. The signal for your lane shows a steady red arrow that points right, while a green light shows for through traffic next to you. What must you do?
Two signal heads are labeled Through lane and Right-turn lane. The through signal has its lower circular green lamp lit. The right-turn signal has a steady red arrow pointing right in its top lens.
Correct answer: Stop and stay stopped until a signal lets you turn right
Why
A red arrow is often used when pedestrians have a walk signal or when another movement conflicts with your turn. A red left arrow works the same way for left turns. Wait until a green arrow or another signal permits the turn.
