Passing target: 80% (40/50)
You wait at a green light to turn left. An oncoming car approaches with its right turn signal flashing, but it has not started to slow down or turn. What should you do?
Blue A waits to turn left at a green signal. Silver B approaches in the opposite lane, still straight. The card states that B’s right signal flashes but B has not slowed or turned.
Correct answer: Turn after the oncoming car has clearly started its turn or has passed you
Why
When you turn left on a circular green light, oncoming traffic has the right-of-way. Wait until oncoming vehicles have passed or are far enough away. If an oncoming car signals a turn, wait until it clearly slows and begins to turn before you go. Also look for pedestrians in the crosswalk that your turn will cross.
