Sunset is at 7:10 p.m. You start driving at 7:45 p.m. on a clear evening, and it still seems fairly light outside. What does Vermont law require?
Correct answer: Headlights on, because it is more than 30 minutes after sunset.
Why
Vermont law requires lighted headlamps and tail lamps from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise. Daytime running lights are not the same as headlights, and parking lights are only for a parked vehicle. The manual also recommends driving with at least your low beams on in the daytime, because it makes your vehicle easier to see.
